Boy, 16, held for P3.4 million shabu
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents seized shabu with an estimated street value of P3.4 million from a 16-year-old in a sting in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte on Wednesday afternoon.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Sultan Kudarat police chief Lt. Col. Esmael Madin confirmed the arrest of the minor in Barangay Ungap.
Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, BARMM police director, said the suspect sold a kilo of shabu to undercover agents.
Authorities are validating reports that a syndicate operating in Central Mindanao is using children as drug couriers.
Meanwhile, in Quezon, a ”high-value” drug suspect identified only as Eric was arrested in a sting in Barangay Ilayang Isabang in Lucena City on Wednesday night.
The suspect reportedly yielded shabu worth P1.5 million. — Ed Amoroso
