Ex-beauty queen’s mom held for alleged car theft

MANILA, Philippines — The mother of former beauty queen and model Maggie Wilson was arrested in Taguig for alleged car theft, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said yesterday.

Wilson’s mother was apprehended in Barangay Ususan on Oct. 9, according to PNP Public Information Office chief Col. Jean Fajardo said.

Fajardo said police served a warrant for the arrest of Wilson’s mother for violating Republic Act 10883 or the anti-carnapping law.

Wilson wondered how her mother, 64, ended up being accused of car theft when she has no driver’s license and does not even know how to drive a vehicle.
