MANILA, Philippines — Police officers with issues related to their jobs in the Philippine National Police (PNP) should not use their social media accounts to air their grievances.

PNP Public Information Office chief Col. Jean Fajardo issued the reminder yesterday after a policewoman ranted on Facebook about the reassignment of her husband to Mindanao.

The police officer, a senior staff sergeant assigned with the National Capital Region Police Office, lambasted her husband’s supervisor.

Instead of using social media platforms, Fajardo urged police officers to relay their concerns on possible transfer and reassignment to grievance committees in the PNP.

Fajardo said the police officers’ rants put the PNP in a bad light.

She also reminded police officers that reassignments are part of regular procedure, especially for those who are overstaying at their posts.
