Makati teachers get wellness kits
MANILA, Philippines — As part of the celebration of World Teachers Day yesterday, the Makati government distributed physical wellness kits to over 3,100 mentors in the city.
Mayor Abby Binay and Rep. Luis Campos led the distribution of the kits at the San Jose Elementary School and Makati High School.
The teachers received a wellness kit containing a gym bag, jogging pants, a jacket, rubber shoes, socks, a tumbler and a smartwatch.
In a Facebook post, the city government thanked the teachers for their service and dedication.
Teachers from the 10 enlisted men’s barrio or EMBO barangays also received their kits from Makati.
Last August, the Department of Education authorized Makati to distribute free uniforms and school supplies to students from EMBO barangays, which are now under the jurisdiction of Taguig.
