MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working holidays in five local government units in the country.
The holidays were contained in separate proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of President Marcos last month.
Oct. 4 is a special non-working holiday in Infanta, Pangasinan, in celebration of the town’s 147th founding anniversary. The declaration was contained in Proclamation No. 349.
Proclamation No. 347 declared Oct. 5 a special non-working day in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur to allow residents to celebrate the town’s 139th founding anniversary.
Mountain Province will enjoy a similar holiday on Oct. 6 in observance of the Provincial Indigenous People’s Day.
Oct. 20 will be a special non-working day in Negros Oriental for the Buglasan Festival.
The city of Mati in Davao Oriental will observe a similar holiday on Oct. 27 for the Sambuokan Festival.
The holidays in Mountain Province, Negros Oriental and Mati City were stated in proclamation numbers 348, 350 and 351, respectively.
