256 Parañaque families receive lot certificates
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Parañaque distributed lot certificates to over 256 families on Saturday.
Mayor Eric Olivares handed the certificates to residents of Purok 6.
Residents of Purok 1 to 5 have yet yet to receive their land certificates.
Olivares said the certificates entitle recipients to claim ownership of the house and lot where they reside.
The residents will also be given individual lot titles and will be asked to sign a memorandum of agreement with the local government for the payment of the land.
According to Olivares, the residents could pay for the lot over several years.
The 5.6-hectare land where more than 4,000 residents from Purok 1 to 6 reside was owned by businessman Steven Hontiveros.
Last August, the Parañaque government bought the property from Hontiveros for P119 million.
