TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — Workers in Cagayan Valley will get an increase of P30 in their daily pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) and the National Wages Productivity Commission approved a petition for wage adjustments in the region.
Jesus Elpidio Atal, chief of the Department of Labor and Employment-Cagayan Valley, said the daily wage for workers in the agriculture and non-agriculture sectors would now be P430 and P450, respectively.
Atal said the increase would be given in two tranches as agreed by the board and the employers.
The first tranch amounting to P15 will take effect on Oct. 16, while the second will be in April next year.
Atal said that starting Oct. 16, the minimum daily wage for workers in the agriculture sector would be P415 and P430 in April next year.
Workers in the non-agriculture sector will receive P435 daily effective Oct. 16, and P450 in April.
The RTWPB also approved an additional P500 in the minimum monthly pay of household workers, bringing the total amount to P5,500.
