SCTEX Pasig-Potrero bridge reopens

MANILA, Philippines — The Pasig Potrero Bridge along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will be opened to motorists today after more than two months of repair and rehabilitation.

“We are happy to announce we are reopening the Pasig Potrero Bridge to traffic after undergoing rehabilitation works. Travel will again be more convenient and seamless as this will alleviate traffic coming from Clark to Subic and vice versa,” North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corp. president and general manager J. Luigi Bautista said.

NLEX Corp., the operator of SCTEX, closed the bridge in July following a safety inspection in the aftermath of Typhoon Dodong.

A third party assessor recommended the closure of the bridge to pave the way for repair works, citing the damage it incurred due to heavy rainfall and river current.

Apart from rehabilitating the Pasig Potrero Bridge, NLEX Corp. said it is undertaking several other projects to improve travel along SCTEX.
