MANILA, Philippines — Up to 170 pieces of unexploded ordnance were discovered in Pasig City on Tuesday, police reported yesterday.
The presence of the explosives at a construction site for a condominium building in Barangay Manggahan was reported to the police at around 11 a.m.
Capt. Danilo Latoja, who heads the Manggahan police sub-station 8, said a backhoe operator discovered the explosives.
The construction worker informed the security guards about the explosives, Latoja said.
The 170 assorted unexploded devices were turned over to the Eastern Police District’s explosive ordnance disposal unit for safekeeping.
