MANILA, Philippines — A businesswoman was killed in a gun attack in San Fernando, Pampanga on Tuesday.
Rosalinda Cruz, 52, a resident of Norzagaray, Bulacan, was delivering lanterns in Barangay San Juan when unidentified men shot her at close range, according to a report by San Fernando police chief Lt. Col. Preston Bagangan.
In Nueva Ecija, Reden Daquiz, principal of Sto. Tomas North Elementary School, was in his Toyota Fortuner parked in front of the school when he was shot by motorcycle-riding men.
Daquiz is now in stable condition at the Nueva Ecija Medical Center.
The Department of Education regional office said it is coordinating with the police and concerned agencies to identify the perpetrators.
”We denounce any injustice toward our personnel, learners and stakeholders. We maintain and advocate that our schools and communities remain as zones of peace,” the DepEd-Central Luzon office said in a statement. - Ramon Efren Lazaro
