Suspected NPA rebel nabbed in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected member of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested in Taguig City on Monday.

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. yesterday announced the arrest of the suspect, whom he identified through her aliases as Yvonne, Sam and Ayang.

The woman was collared by police intelligence operatives in Barangay Central Signal Village.

The suspect is wanted for four counts of murder, multiple frustrated murder, attempted murder and theft. The government has put up a bounty of P280,000 for her arrest.

Acorda said the suspect is an official of the NPA’s Sub-Regional Military Area operating in Mindoro Island.
