MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) yesterday warned the public of scams involving supposed domestic cargo shipments.

Scammers send messages through social media to lure people into making payments for shipments that had supposedly been loaded onto a PAL flight, with some presenting fake PAL cargo airway bills as “proof” of the existence of the shipment, according to PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna.

“These are totally bogus.  No such cargo shipments exist, and any related online payments will surely go to fraudsters,” she said.

Villaluna appealed to the public to deal only with the airline’s legitimate cargo agents and shippers for any air cargo transactions.
