14 Manila cops sacked

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The commander of a police community precinct (PCP) in Manila and 13 of his men were relieved from their posts after they were found to be remiss in their duties, an official announced yesterday.

Maj. Jade dela Torre, head of the Simon-Basilio-Maceda PCP in Sampaloc, was sacked along with the entire personnel of the police precinct, according to Manila Police District director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon.

Dizon said residents in the area complained that they could not “feel the presence of the police precinct due to lack of visibility.”

Dizon has ordered the police officers to undergo a refresher course under the MPD’s mobile force battalion.
