Bus rams car at NLEX toll booth; 3 hurt

MANILA, Philippines — Three persons were injured when a passenger bus crashed into a car at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Balintawak toll booth yesterday morning.

According to a report by NLEX Corp.’s corporate communications office, the brakes of a Stella Mae Star bus malfunctioned as the vehicle was approaching the toll plaza.

The bus hit the chariot barrier, guardrails and toll booth as well as the rear of a Toyota Corolla at around 8:36 a.m.

NLEX personnel rushed the three still unidentified victims to an undisclosed hospital. The firm turned the case over to the Caloocan police.
