MANILA, Philippines — A woman allegedly in possession of 3.45 kilos of cocaine valued at P18.3 million was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on Thursday night.
Zenaida Loslolo, a 49-year-old Filipina, was collared at the airport’s arrival area at around 9:45 p.m., police Drug Enforcement Group chief Col. Dionisio Bartolome Jr. said in a report.
Airport security officers detained Loslolo, who arrived in the country on a passenger aircraft from Ethiopia, after they noticed suspicious items in her luggage during an x-ray screening.
When they opened the suspect’s luggage, lawmen discovered the illegal drugs placed inside an improvised plastic sachet.
Losloso and the illegal drugs were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect is being held on charges of importation of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, 30 grams of shabu worth P204,000 were found in a warehouse at the NAIA Complex along Andrews Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The dangerous drugs were concealed in a parcel that was declared to contain children’s sleepwear.
The package was shipped by a certain Albert Soriques of Parañaque City and consigned to Hermes Uy of Oslo, Norway.
