Teacher stabbed dead in robbery try

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — A teacher was stabbed to death in an attempted robbery in front of a boarding house along Dumas street in Barangay San Pedro in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

A tricycle driver discovered Lazaga’s body.

The victim’s two bags, which contained a laptop and his personal belongings, a damaged umbrella and two kitchen knives were recovered at the scene.

Maj. Randy Babor, Binalbagan police chief, said one of the suspects was arrested while two others, who remain at large, have been identified.

Initial investigation showed the suspects stabbed Lazaga when he resisted and shouted for help.
