MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed Lt. Gen. Roy Galido as the new commanding general of the Philippine Army, the Department of National Defense (DND) announced yesterday.
DND spokesman Arsenio Andolong said Galido replaced Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., who was recently named chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Andolong said Galido is the 66th commanding general of the Philippine Army.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1990, Andolong said Galido has led a sterling military career.
He served as commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division.
Galido also headed the AFP’s Western Mindanao Command.
