MANILA, Philippines — Residents in Caloocan and Valenzuela affected by flooding caused by monsoon rains remain in evacuation centers.
Caloocan City public information officer Princess Garcia said at least 26 families from Barangay 185 are still taking shelter at the Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School.
Garcia said 46 families from Barangay 180 sought shelter amid the threat posed by the rising levels of Ilang-Ilang creek.
In Valenzuela, 297 families from 13 barangays are still in evacuation sites in the city.
The city government suspended work at the city hall yesterday afternoon due to inclement weather, except for personnel of emergency response offices.
