Albay cop held for drugs

MANILA, Philippines — A policeman with alleged links to the illegal drug trade was arrested in Oas, Albay on Thursday.

S/Sgt. Gregg Redoblado was apprehended after selling shabu worth P30,000 to an undercover agent in Barangay Calzada at around 4 a.m., police said.

The suspect allegedly yielded another 30 grams of shabu worth P204,000.

Col. Dionisio Bartolome Jr., police Drug Enforcement Group director, said Redoblado had been under surveillance after he was included in  Bicol’s drug watchlist.

In Negros Occidental, six job order employees of the municipal government of Don Salvador tested positive for drug use.

Don Salvador Benedicto Mayor Lawrence Marxlen de la Cruz said the six employees were immediately dismissed from the service. — Gilbert Bayoran, John Unson
