MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go and representatives from the National Housing Authority (NHA), assisted fire victims in Cavite City on Thursday.
In his message, Go called for unity and cooperation among Filipinos, emphasizing the importance of helping communities faced with crises recover and rebuild.
“Magtulungan lang po tayo. Sino ba namang magtutulungan kung hindi tayo lang po, kapwa natin Pilipino,” he said. “Makakabangon tayo pag nagtutulungan.”
It was the second time that Go visited the area as he reiterated his commitment to help fire victims rebuild their lives. He also provided assistance to the fire victims on May 3.
During the activity held at the Montano gymnasium, Go and his team distributed grocery packs, vitamins, face masks, snacks and shirts to 734 beneficiaries. The senator also gave away bicycles, mobile phones, shoes, bags, watches, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select recipients.
The NHA granted housing assistance to qualified beneficiaries under its Emergency Housing Assistance Program.
The EHAP was established to extend financial assistance for housing materials to families affected by natural disasters, calamities and other emergencies.
Go reminded residents to avail themselves of the services provided by the Malasakit Centers at the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires City and Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital in Bacoor.
