Missing Cotabato doctor found dead

John Unson - The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — The body of a doctor reported missing on Sunday has been found buried in a shallow grave in the compound of the hospital where she worked.

The husband of obstetrician-gynecologist Marivic Tello, retired police general Agustin Juan Tello, confirmed to reporters that the body of his wife was found buried beside a building at the compound of the Cotabato Regional Medical Center yesterday morning.

Nashrudin Endaila, who worked as a part-time staff of the doctor, surrendered to Cotabato Mayor Bruce Matabalao and city police chief Col. Querubin Manalang Jr.

Endaila admitted that he strangled Tello with a length of rope following an argument. He accused her of mishandling the monthly dues of physicians of a medical organization.

Endaila was reportedly seen pulling a big plastic bag, which contained Tello’s body, from a building in the hospital to the spot where the victim was buried.
