Man caught carrying gun in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested for allegedly carrying a firearm in a public place in Quezon City on Saturday afternoon.

Albert Ramos, 37, was apprehended in front of the Ever Gotesco Mall in Barangay Batasan Hills at around 5:20 p.m., which is around 2.8
kilometers away from the Batasang Pambansa Complex where President Marcos will deliver his second State of the Nation Address
today.

Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Quezon City Police District director, said police patrolling Commonwealth Avenue spotted Ramos suspiciously roaming in front of the mall.

Ramos allegedly got irked and created trouble when policemen approached him.
After he was restrained, police said they found a handgun in his possession.

The suspect is facing charges of violating provisions of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
