Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Eleven passengers were rescued after a motorized boat capsized in the waters of Surigao City on Saturday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it received a distress call at around 5 p.m. that the M/B Justin submerged in the coastal waters of Day-asan town.

A PCG search and rescue team responded and brought the passengers to a PCG boathouse.

The passengers were found to be in good condition and were allowed to go home.

Investigation showed the boat was headed to Surigao City when it figured in an accident near Barangay Buntog Bato.
