CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna –, Philippines — The reward money offered for any information leading to the arrest of the killer of an achitecture student in Occidental Mindoro has been increased from P100,000 to P450,000.
The decomposing body of Eden Joy Villacete was found in her rented apartment in San Jose town on Friday morning. It bore multiple stab wounds.
Col. Jun Dexter Danao, Occidental Mindoro police director, said a special investigation task group was created to solve the crime.
Earlier, Occidental Mindoro Gov. Eduardo Gadiano offered P100,000 for anybody who could positively identify and locate the killer.
Cong. Leody Odie Tarriela, Vice Gov. Diane Tayap and the municipal government contributed P100,000 each.
Residents and roommates of the victim contributed P50,000, bringing the total amount to P450,000.
The task group is reviewing footage of closed-circuit television cameras installed around the area where the crime occurred.
It also invited for questioning five persons including the owner of the apartment and other tenants of the four-story building.
“The victim’s phone was reportedly missing and no signs of forced entry were noted at the scene of the crime,” Danao said.
