Student raped, killed in Occidental Mindoro
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — An architecture student believed to be a victim of rape was found dead at a rented apartment in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on Friday morning.
The naked and decomposing body of Eden Joy Villacete, 21, a student of the Occidental Mindoro State College, was discovered by responding policemen after residents complained of a foul smell coming from the room of the victim, Col. Jun Dexter Danao, Occidental Mindoro police director, said.
Villacete’s housemates said the victim was last seen on Wednesday.
“ It is possible that the victim was raped. However, we are still waiting for the result of the examination of Scene of the Crime Operatives. We are also reviewing footage of closed-circuit television cameras, ” Danao said.
