MANILA, Philippines — A photojournalist and three of his relatives were wounded in an ambush perpetrated by unidentified gunmen in Quezon City yesterday.

Joshua Abiad, photographer of Remate online, and his relatives were headed home in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) when they were ambushed at the corner of Corumi and Gazan streets in Barangay Masambong at around 3:50 p.m., police said.

Probers said at least two men in a Toyota sedan traveling from the opposite direction opened fire at the victims’ vehicle.

Apart from Abiad, his brother and two minors aged eight and four were also wounded.

Three other persons in the vehicle were unharmed police said.

The Presidential Task Force on Media Security said Abiad is a witness in several drug cases filed in court.

Abiad and his companions were brought to an undisclosed hospital where they are recuperating.

Police said they have yet to determine the motive for the attack.
