MANILA, Philippines — The death toll from the sinking of a fishing boat off the coast of Baganga, Davao Oriental on Thursday is now three.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said the body of the third fatality was recovered at around 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
The body of the victim was found floating near the area where Genesis 2 sank.
The PCG said six other fishermen remain missing. Fourteen other fishermen were rescued.
The PCG’s BRP Tubbataha and five vessels owned by the fishing company, which is based in General Santos City, are conducting search and rescue operations.
