Taguig starts bivalent COVID-19 jabs for health workers

Daphne Galvez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government started on Thursday administering bivalent COVID vaccines to health workers to boost their protection.

Among those who received the bivalent vaccines at the Taguig Mega Vaccination Hub in Barangay Lower Bicutan are health workers from Taguig-Pateros District Hospital, Medical Center Taguig and Taguig Doctors Hospital.

“Here in Taguig, we show our capabilities and our readiness in administering vaccines,” Mayor Lani Cayetano said.

According to Taguig national immunization program medical coordinator Dr. Jennifer Lou Lorico-de Guzman, the city will first inoculate health workers and hospital-based frontliners.

The city government said it will still administer monovalent COVID-19 vaccines to those who do not yet have primary doses and first and second booster shots.

Cayetano urged health workers to convey to the public that vaccines are safe, effective and vital against fighting off COVID.
