CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Two policemen were wounded in an anti-drug operation in Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija Tuesday night.
Belated reports said S/Sgts. Bryan Raymundo and Rommel Abad of the Sto. Domingo police drug enforcement unit were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said one of the suspects, identified as Israel Andres, was arrested while his alleged cohort, Allan Maliwat, managed to escape.
Initial investigation showed the policemen were dispatched in Barangay Poblacion for possible anti-crime and anti-narcotics operation at around 7 p.m.
At about 10:30 p.m., the suspects, who were in a tricycle, reportedly pulled over and fired at law enforcers.
