Cop tagged in radioman’s murder surfaces
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A police major and his associate in local peryahan games suspected to be behind the killing of a radio commentator in Oriental Mindoro have surfaced before a special panel investigating the incident.
The police major, whose identity was withheld, and his associate identified only as Felix denied allegations that they perpetrated the killing of Cresenciano Bundoquin in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro on May 31.
“The two submitted their respective statements. They are very cooperative in the investigation and said they had no participation in the killing of Bundoquin,” a member of the task group said.
Col. Samuel Delorino, Oriental Mindoro police director and head of the special investigation task group, said a murder complaint had been filed before the provincial prosecutor’s office against the alleged gunman identified as Isabelo Bautista.
Delorino said the task force is investigating the owner of the gun used in the crime.
Presidential Task Force on Media Security executive director Paul Gutierrez said the family of Bundoquin believes there are other people involved in the crime.
Bundoquin, a radio commentator at Kalahi News FM and MUX online radio, was about to open his rented store in Barangay Sta. Isabel when he was gunned down.
