MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government and event organizer Pride PH expect around 50,000 participants in this year’s Pride Festival to be held at the Quezon Memorial Circle on Saturday.
At a press conference yesterday, Pride PH and members of the event’s team said they expect to beat last year’s record of 25,000 attendees.
Pride Festival is considered as one of the biggest celebrations of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte committed to support the event, especially in ensuring the safety of the participants.
“Quezon City is an inclusive city. We are an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. We assure the participants that this year’s Pride event will be fun, memorable and meaningful for all,” Belmonte said.
The festival will start at 10 a.m. to give way to LGBTQIA+ merchants, partner non-government organizations and allied corporations who want to showcase their services to the attendees, the event organizers said.
