P4.6 million marijuana seized in Tabuk

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police seized marijuana with an estimated value of P4.6 million in Tabuk, Kalinga on Monday afternoon.

The PDEA office in the Cordilleras said seven passengers of a Toyota GL Grandia pulled over at a checkpoint in Purok 5 were arrested.

Authorities said 38 kilos of marijuana bricks, 500 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops and 10 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks were found in the vehicle of the suspects.

Two of the suspects are residents of Sta. Maria, Bulacan while five are from Angeles City in Pampanga, according to the PDEA office in the Cordilleras.

The seven are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
