Four hurt in Marikina fire
MANILA, Philippines — Four people were injured when a fire broke out at a private company in Marikina City yesterday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)’s National Capital Region field office said the fire broke out at around 5:15 a.m. and was doused after four minutes.
The company, which the BFP did not name, is located at the corner of Gil Fernando Avenue and Marcos Highway in Barangay San Roque. Albert Martinez, 35; Catalino Martinez, 35; Jael Santos, 28, and Marco Abaroso, 25, were treated for burn injuries.
Arson probers said the fire originated at the company’s commissary, which operates 24 hours a day. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
