Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines — A drug surrenderee has been tagged as the gunman in the recent killing of radio commentator Cresenciano Bundoquin in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.

Col. Samuel Delorino, Oriental Mindoro police director, said Narciso Guntan and the gunman were on the police drug list and drug surrenderee, respectively.

Guntan died from head injuries after he fell off his motorcycle, which was hit by a car driven by Bundoquin’s son during the chase. The gunman fled on foot.

Bunduquin was the host of Balita at Talakayan aired over radio dwXR and other media outlets. He recently discussed local environmental issues.

Although the task force formed to solve the killing has identified the gunman, Delorino refused to reveal his identity so as not to compromise the ongoing manhunt.

“We want to complete first all evidence including the sworn statement of the witnesses who positively identified the gunman,” Delorino said.
