Grade 10 student gang-raped in Naga

MANILA, Philippines - A Grade 10 student was allegedly raped by seven people, said to be her classmates and schoolmates and all minors, in Naga City in Cebu on Friday.

Lt. Col. William Homoc, Naga police chief, said initial investigation showed the victim attended a party where the guests drank alcoholic beverages.

A witness said the victim was taken on a motorcycle and brought to a remote area, where she was allegedly raped.

The victim was reportedly found unconscious near a water tank. She is undergoing psychological counseling.

In Quezon, an eight-year-old girl believed to be a victim of rape was found dead and naked in a grassy portion of a lot in Barangay Gulang-Gulang in Lucena City yesterday.

The body of the girl bore bruises while her mouth was gagged.

The father of the victim said his daughter failed to come home after he asked her to buy coffee.
