CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A traffic enforcer was shot dead by a drunk motorist following a spat in Tanza, Cavite on Sunday.

William Quiambao, 54, died while being treated at the Tanza Specialist Medical Center for three gunshots to the head, according to Maj. Dennis Villanueva, Tanza police chief.

Villanueva created a team to hunt the assailant, identified as Joseph Llagas, 37, reportedly an aide of a politician.

He said Llagas, who was on a motorcycle, had come from a drinking session when Quiambao pulled him over in Barangay Daang Amaya 2 for a traffic violation.

An argument ensued between Quiambao and Llagas, who reportedly drew his gun and shot the victim several times.

The suspect fled on the same motorcycle with his backrider, identified as Aries Carlos, police said.
