LAGUNA, Philippines — Twenty-eight kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P190.4 million were seized from a woman and her driver who were arrested in a sting in Calamba City on Wednesday.
Donna Gali, 37, a resident of Sto. Tomas, Batangas, and John Erwin Cadiliña, 37, of Calamba were apprehended after selling sachets of shabu to undercover agents in Purok 2 in Barangay Makiling, Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, Laguna police director, said.
A Toyota Hi-Ace van was among those seized from the suspects.
Silvio said anti-narcotics officers conducted the operation after receiving reports that Gali took over the illegal drug transactions in Calamba and nearby towns after her partner Fernan Manzero was arrested in January.
Lt. Col. Lany Martirez, Calamba police chief, said the suspects are on the drug watchlist and identified as “high-value” drug targets.
Martirez said Gali and Cadiliña had been under surveillance for one week. – Emmanuel Tupas
