BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Marijuana plants with an estimated market value of P9.4 million were destroyed in separate areas in Benguet over the weekend.
Officers of the Benguet 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company raided the marijuana plantations in the villages of Badeo and Caliking located in Kibungan and Atok towns, respectively, on Saturday.
Among those torched by the team were 980 fully grown marijuana shrubs, 320 seedlings and 75 kilos of dried stalks.
The officers also discovered two marijuana seedbeds with up to 2,000 seedlings valued at P104,000 in Barangay Badeo.
Probers have yet to identify the caretakers of the plantations.
