P6.8 million shabu seized in Naga

MANILA, Philippines — A “high-value” drug suspect was arrested and a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million was recovered in a sting in Naga City on Friday.

John Joseph Yukim, 34, was apprehended in Barangay Sabang at around 7:05 a.m., Bicol police spokesperson Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib said.

Police said Yukiim, one of the most wanted drug traffickers in Bicol, negotiated a deal with an undercover police operative for a pack of shabu weighing 200 grams.

Meanwhile, Medel Arao III, a job order employee at the city government in Gingoog, Misamis Oriental, was arrested in Barangay 17.

Anti-narcotics agents said 10 grams of shabu valued at P68,000 were recovered from the suspect.
