Vlogger under fire for street boxing
MANILA, Philippines — An amateur boxer who also does vlogging on Facebook is being investigated by the Makati police for daring residents to have a match with him on the street.
In a dzRH interview yesterday, Makati police chief Col. Edward Cutiyog said the vlogger behind the Facebook page “BossDamm” may face charges for injuries sustained by at least two residents in Barangay La Paz whom he dared in a fight.
The vlogger duped the victims into fighting him by promising them P500 if they win, which they did not, Cutiyog added.
A video of the match, uploaded on Sunday, has gone viral, with one million views, 871 shares and thousands of reactions and comments.
The still unnamed suspect has 1,400 likes and 6,600 followers on his Facebook page.
Cutiyog said the suspect is a Taguig resident who held his latest “Dayo Serye” or visitation vlog in Makati and timed the boxing match during a fiesta without barangay authorization.
The match failed to catch the attention of the police despite the noisy crowd because it was held in a gated area, he added.
The probe is underway following the death of upcoming bantamweight Kenneth Egano, 22, after winning an eight-round fight against Jason Facularin in Imus, Cavite over the weekend.
