MANILA, Philippines — Several areas along Roxas Boulevard were closed to traffic starting last night for the construction of a footbridge for the Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1)’s extension project.
The northbound portion of Roxas Boulevard will be closed to motorists until 5 a.m. today.
The service road near the Baclaran Church will be shut down from 10 p.m. on Thursday until 5 a.m. the next day.
The road closures will enable the Light Rail Manila Corp., operator of the LRT-1, to build a pedestrian footbridge for the Redemptorist station of the rail’s Cavite extension, the LRMC said.
The LRMC advised motorists to take alternate routes.
Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite extension project will be operational by 2024, the company said.
