Abu Sayyaf bomb expert nabbed in Jolo
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — An alleged bomb expert of the Abu Sayyaf bandit group was arrested following a raid on his hideout in Jolo, Sulu over the weekend, security officials resported yesterday.
Ras Abdulla, who also uses the name Elhan Bahjin Abuhassan and alias Teka, was arested by a joint team of the Zamboanga and Sulu police in Barangay Bus-bus on Friday, according to Lt. Col. Reynald Ariño, chief of the 2nd Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company.
Abdulla was collared based on an arrest warrant issued in January by the 9th Regional Trial Court of Zamboanga City Branch 33 on charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives. No bail was recommended.
Ariño said Abdulla ranked fourth on the list of most wanted persons in this city. He said the suspect is a bomb expert of an Abu Sayyaf faction headed by subleaders Marzan Ajijul and Jomar Mohammad.
