‘Joey de Leon’ nabbed for drugs

MANILA, Philippines — A namesake of comedian Joey de Leon was arrested in Quezon City on Tuesday on drug charges.

De Leon, 51, was apprehended by police at his residence in Barangay Batasan Hills at around 2:30 p.m., according to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

The suspect is the sixth most wanted fugitive of the QCPD Station 8.

Police served a warrant of arrest issued by a Quezon City court against De Leon for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

De Leon was among the eight wanted fugitives who were arrested in Quezon City on Tuesday.
