MANILA, Philippines — Five people were arrested after they were caught with P112,200 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and weapons in Taguig City on Saturday.
Among those who were arrested was Annuar Gana, 47, who the Southern Police District said was responsible for a series of shootings in Taguig.
Gana; Troy Minandang, 38; Arturo Marron, 36; Nathaniel Piang, 35, and Mauhreen Andrade, 21, were arrested by police during an Oplan Galugad operation in Barangay Western Bicutan at around 3:30 a.m.
The suspects were caught sniffing shabu at a suspected drug den.
Seized from them were 16.5 grams of shabu, different drug paraphernalia, a .45-caliber handgun and a hand grenade, the police said.
The suspects face charges of possession of dangerous drugs and illegal possession of a firearm and an explosive.
