MANILA, Philippines — One of the suspects in the killing of an 82-year-old woman in Barangay Gulod, Quezon City on Tuesday was arrested on Thursday.
Jayson de Guzman, 32, was arrested by Novaliches police station operatives along Quirino Highway in Barangay Novaliches Proper at around 3:30 p.m.
De Guzman was identified by probers as one of three people involved in the killing of Nenita Tan in her house on Tuesday.
Tan was found dead at the laundry area of her house after she was repeatedly hit with a rock.
Police are looking at robbery as a motive for the attack.
It is not the first time De Guzman is accused of committing a crime as he has a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, from a Quezon City court that set bail for his temporary liberty at P200,000.
Police are looking for De Guzman’s cohorts, who remain at large.
