Go visits Pasig fire victims
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go and his team distributed aid on Friday to 212 households affected by a recent fire in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
Held at Pinagbuhatan High School, Go personally led the distribution of grocery packs, vitamins, masks, snacks and shirts to the victims.
Shoes and balls for basketball and volleyball were also provided to select beneficiaries.
He urged everyone to take care of their wellbeing and the lives of others, as every burned house affects not only the homeowners but also their neighbors.
Staff from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided financial assistance to the affected families to help hasten their recovery from the damages caused by the fire.
To further assist family members with health concerns, Go – as chair of the Senate committee on health and demography – advised the beneficiaries to visit any of the 31 Malasakit Centers in Metro Manila, including one at Rizal Medical Center (RMC) in the city, if they need medical assistance.
As vice chair of the Senate committee on finance, Go has also supported various initiatives in the city, such as the acquisition of medical equipment and the construction of a seven-story multi-specialty building in the RMC.
Go’s team also conducted a separate aid distribution for fire victims in Barangays Sta. Lucia and Kalawaan in Pasig.
