Marikina grants tax amnesty

MANILA, Philippines — The Marikina City government has granted amnesty to delinquent real property and business taxpayers for the rest of the year.

Mayor Marcelino Teodoro on Friday signed Ordinance No. 025, Series of 2023, which grants amnesty on interest of delinquent real property taxpayers in the city.

He also approved Ordinance No. 026, Series of 2023 granting amnesty on surcharges and interest of delinquent business taxpayers in Marikina.

He said the move is to give respite to taxpayers in the wake of the struggles the country experienced at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tax relief will last until Dec. 31.
