Magnitude 5.1 quake jolts Agusan
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Agusan del Norte shortly after midnight yesterday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the quake, which was tectonic in nature, was recorded six kilometers south of Santiago town.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4, which is classified as moderately strong, in Santiago, Jabonga and Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Talacogon in Agusan del Sur and Intensity 2 in Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.
Instrumental intensities 1 to 4 were recorded in Cabadbaran, Surigao City, Talakag in Bukidnon and Abuyog and Mahaplag in Leyte.
