MANILA, Philippines — Two people who allegedly stole a motorcycle in Las Piñas were arrested in Quezon City on Monday after they posted the vehicle for sale online.
Arturo del Rosario III, 22, and Jade Christopher Visayan, 19, were arrested during an entrapment operation at the corner of EDSA and Kamias Road at around 9:56 a.m., police said.
The suspects allegedly stole a Yamaha Mio motorcycle parked in front of a pawnshop along Alabang-Zapote Road in Las Piñas on March 21.
The owner of the motorcycle, security guard Pablito Diotay Jr., noticed last Sunday that his vehicle was being sold on Facebook.
Diotay sought assistance from policemen for an entrapment operation.
The victim’s co-employee, who posed as a buyer, met with the suspects for the transaction, which was monitored by police.
The suspects were apprehended after they handed over the motorcycle’s official receipt and certificate of registration to the buyer.
The suspects face charges of violating Presidential Decree 1612, or the Anti-Fencing Law.
