Bacolod City, Philippines — A Grade 10 student was arrested yesterday for allegedly bringing a fragmentation grenade to a school in Talisay City in Negros Occidental.
Classes at the school were suspended due to the incident.
Capt. Abegael Donasco, deputy police chief of Talisay, said the student was arrested after a tricycle driver reported that the student threatened him with the grenade.
Responding policemen said a fragmentation grenade and dried marijuana leaves were recovered from the student.
Donasco said the student faces charges for illegal possession of explosives and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
